Originally produced in 1986, as a pilot for an unreleased "Solarman" series. A videocassette was released in 1989 to tie-in with Marvel's short-lived "Solarman" comic book, and the pilot aired once on the Fox Kids Network, as a "special presentation", in September 1992.
