Granddaughter of the owner of Carioca Palace Hotel, Luíza, who has lived there since childhood, watches her 25th birthday party turn into a major police investigation when 40 million dollars—resulting from the sale of the Hotel without the consent of the heiress—disappear from the safe. The theft was orchestrated by four employees, at first reluctant, in the face of breaking points in each one's life: concierge Malagueta, waiter Júlio, receptionist Agnaldo and maid Sandra Helena; in order to avoid suspicion, they do not spend the money and continue to work as usual, hoping that Carioca Palace goes bankrupt and everyone is fired.
