Hamburg's chief inspector Jan Fabel and his team investigate particularly tricky cases, e.g. a series of murders in which a bloody trail runs through the whole of Hamburg, alluding to literary fairy tales such as Sleeping Beauty and Cinderella. The dark thrillers were based on novels by Scottish author Craig Russell.
