The manager of a transport company is found dead, he has been assassinated. Police investigations show that sinister deals were carried out through the company: drugs and medicines, in particular, are being transferred or smuggled. Traffickers prove to be tough in carrying out their illegal activities. The young helmsman Klaus Kröger also felt this when he became involved in the matter. But who is behind these machinations, who is the boss of the gang? Bruno Kalpak and freight forwarder Löllgen are suspects. Finally, solid late returnee Kröger becomes active on his own initiative and helps investigating police inspector Ostendorff unearth the entire gang when he is about to rob an entire freight train on the banks of the Elbe. The murderer also falls into the clutches of the police.
