Cleide receives a visit from her daughter Kellen, a successful funk singer who, after not hearing from her for a year, reappears in the village where the family lives. Like any self-respecting mother, Cleide knows that where there is smoke, there is fire, and she is suspicious of her daughter's sudden change in attitude.
