João Francisco is a crossdressing artist who dreams of becoming a great star of the stage. After leaving prison, he moves in with Laurita, a prostitute and his "wife"; Firmina, Laurita's daughter; Tabu, his accomplice; Renatinho, his lover and a traitor; and also Amador, owner of the Danúbio Azul bar. It is in this environment that João Francisco will become the mythical Madame Satã.
