Yuri on Ice is a Japanese sports anime television series about figure skating. It follows the story of Yuki Katsuki, a Japanese figure skater, who decides to put his skating career on hold after a crushing defeat in the Grand Prix Final and goes back to his hometown but a set of events eventually brings him back to the skating rink; Victor Nikiforov, a Russian figure skating champion who also happens to be Katsuki’s idol and decides to coach him after seeing Katsuki perfectly imitating one of his skating routines; Yuki Plisetsky, a rising 15-year-old Russian prodigy skater who wants Victor to fulfill his promise of choreographing a routine specifically for him.
