Goku dies from a viral heart disease, and six months later, all the Z-Fighters except Gohan (Dragon Ball) are killed by List of Dragon Ball characters#Secondary characters and List of Dragon Ball characters#Secondary characters. With the death of Piccolo (Dragon Ball), Kami dies as well and the Dragon Balls are rendered permanently useless, making it impossible for the Z Fighters to be revived.
