Sergei Parajanov

Sergei Parajanov was a Ukrainian and Armenian film director, screenwriter, and composer. He was one of the representatives of the Ukrainian poetic cinema movement. Parajanov is best known as the director of the film Shadows of Forgotten Ancestors, based on the novel of the same name by Mykhailo Kotsiubynsky, which holds the first place in the list of the 100 best Ukrainian films.
